Motorcycle diploma AM, A1, A2, A category initial issuance
Category AM
The category AM can be acquired from the age of 16, with the consent of the person taking care of the minor and the driver is not required to hold another driving license.By obtaining the category AM, you have the right to drive:
1) two-wheeled (moped), three-wheeled or four-wheeled motor vehicle, which by construction does not develop a speed of more than 45 km / h and in parallel,
if it has an internal combustion engine not exceeding 50 cc or
- if it has an electric motor, its power should not exceed 4 kW.
Category A1.
Class A1 can be obtained from the age of 18 and the driver is not required to hold another driving license.With the acquisition of category A1, you have the right to drive
1) motorcycles which in combination:
- do not exceed 125 cm3 and,
- the maximum power does not exceed 11 kW and the power to weight ratio is less than 0,1 kW / kg (power / weight)
2) motorized tricycles
whose power does not exceed 15 kW.
Category A2.
Class A2 can be obtained from the age of 20 and the driver is not required to hold another driving license.With the acquisition of category A2, you have the right to drive
1) motorcycles for which in combination:
their maximum power does not exceed 35 kW and the power to weight ratio is less than 0.2 kW / kg (power / weight) and
do not come from a modified version of another motorcycle, more than twice the power of the modified motorcycle.
Category A.
Category A can be obtained:from the age of 24 and the driver is not required to hold another driving license,
from the age of 22 in case the applicant is already a holder of a Category A2 driving license for at least two (2) years.
With the acquisition of category A, you have the right to drive:
1) motorcycles of any power
2) motor tricycles whose power exceeds 15 kW.

Theoretical training
Thirty (30) compulsory theoretical courses. Twenty (20) for the car questionnaire and ten (10) for the motorcycle questionnaire
Theoretical examination
Multiple choice test thirty (30) questions for the car questionnaire and 10 questions for the motorcycle questionnaire on a computer.
You are entitled to one (1) error for each questionnaire.
Exam time thirty five (35) minutes for the car questionnaire ten (10) minutes for the motorcycle questionnaire

Practical examination of ten (10) minutes for the tests of group A and twenty-five (25) minutes for the tests of group B and C
Motorcycle license (AM, A1, A2, A) extension by car
If you have a car license, you are exempt from medical examinations.However, there is an age limit depending on the category of motorcycle you want to get.
The process is the same for whichever category you choose to acquire

Ten (10) theoretical lessons of forty five (45) minutes in the motorcycle manual at the Center for Theoretical Training of Candidate Drivers.
Theoretical examination
Multiple choice test of ten (10) questions in questionnaire 1 (motorcycle), with three (3) suggested answers of which only one (1) is correct on a computer. You are entitled to one (1) mistake. The duration of this examination is ten (10) minutes.
Practical training
Practical examination
Practical examination of five (10) minutes for the tests of group A and twenty-five (25) minutes for the tests of group B and C.
Car and motorcycle license at the same time
You can apply for a car and motorcycle license at the same time. In this case you have the following benefits:- You give the same day theoretical exams for car and motorcycle.
- You print the diploma once with both categories, saving a fee of 30 €.
- After passing the practical exams in one category, the compulsory practical training hours in the other category are reduced to:
18 of 25 for the car license and
12 out of 14 for the motorcycle license.
You can choose one of the four (4) categories of motorcycle AM, A1 or A1 automatic, A2 or A2 automatic and A. Access to a motorcycle category depends on the age of the candidate.

Twenty (20) compulsory theoretical courses for the car category at a Theoretical Training Center for Candidate Drivers.
Ten (10) compulsory theoretical courses for the motorcycle category at a Theoretical Training Center for Candidate Drivers.
Theoretical examination
Multiple choice test of thirty (30) questions in questionnaire 1 (car), with three (3) suggested answers of which only one (1) is correct on a computer. You are entitled to one (1) mistake. The duration of this examination is thirty five (35) minutes.
Multiple choice test of ten (10) questions in questionnaire 2 (motorcycle), with three (3) suggested answers of which only one (1) is correct on a computer. You are entitled to one (1) mistake. The duration of this examination is fifteen (15) minutes.

Practical examination of ten (10) minutes for the tests of group A and twenty-five (25) minutes for the tests of group B and C, for the car category.
Practical examination of ten (10) minutes for the tests of group A and twenty-five (25) minutes for the tests of group B and C for the motorcycle category.
Extension from a smaller category to a larger motorcycle category
If you are a holder of a motorcycle diploma in one of the categories AM, A1, A2 you can expand to a larger category.The extension is carried out only with practical examinations
The process is the same, just change the motorcycle with which you will give practical exams.
However, there is an age limit depending on the category of motorcycle you want to get.

If you have a motorcycle license with code 78 (automatic), and you want to delete the code, you are exempt from medical examinations and theoretical training and examination.
